Profile

Hi. My name is Olumuyiwa Taiwo, but most people call me Muyiwa or Muyi. I'm a Fedora Ambassador based in the city of Tauranga, in New Zealand's sunny Bay of Plenty region. I've been using Fedora since Fedora Core (1), and Red Hat Linux before it, since Red Hat 5.1. And before that, I use a Linux distribution known as WGS (I believe that stands for Work Group Solutions) Linux 4.2. Unix was actually my first operating system, so I was quite pleased to be able to get my hands on a free Unix-like operating system.

I am originally from Nigeria, but I've lived in New Zealand for over five years, and I'm now a New Zealand citizen, in addition to still being a Nigerian citizen. So, I guess you could say that I'm a Nigerian Kiwi :) I travel a lot to Nigeria, and use the opportunity of my trips to take Fedora CDs back there, and also occasionally organise training in Linux and other free and open source software.

Linux is not very strong in either Nigeria or New Zealand, and I'm hoping to make an impact on that undesirable :) state of affairs through my activities as a Fedora Ambassador.
