Why do you want to work with the Fedora Project / Geeklog?
When I first installed Geeklog, I really liked the platform that had already been built, i tried to read their code and could very easily understand and connect to the code. Moreover a project like building a platform for Crowd-sourcing translations is pretty interesting, having thought quite deeply about it, i want to work to make it functional and functioning good!
Infact my first patch to Geeklog was about improving the installer script to handle SELinux, a feature Fedora has enabled by default and I was only able to encounter because of being using the Beefy-Miracle :) Quite a co-incidence.
Do you have any past involvement with the Fedora project or any other open source project as a contributor?
No
Did you participate with the past GSoC programs, if so which years, which organizations?
No
Will you continue contributing/ supporting the Fedora project / Geeklog after the GSoC 2013 program, if yes, which team(s), you are interested with?
I will love to work on further improving my current proposal of Crowd-sourcing Translations.
Why should we choose you over other applicants?
I am determined to go on a steep learning curve this summer (the time when we have the most free time), hence I would like to use this period of Summer of Code to learn more, , gain a more deep insight into the wonderful open-source community, develop good relations with Geeklog and FOSS community, while developing a useful functionality.
Having completed courses like Data Structures, Operating Systems, Graphics, each with extensive amount of coding, successfully written compiled codes of upto (5-6)k LOC, love to read lots of code, other projects included in CV.
Having already being associated with the community and having submitted patches I am comfortable with the coding guidelines, the review procedure, i’m already liking it, with not such a long period of association.
