I am Giulio (aka giulivo) a long standing GNU advocate, who strongly believes in the freedom cause.

I work for Red Hat and I'm RHCA certified. In 2003 I started a port of the distro called [http://crux.nu crux] to the power architecture platform, the project was called [http://cruxppc.sunsite.dk cruxppc]; a couple of years later I left the team mostly because Apple started selling x86 hardware.
I've learned about GNU/Linux many years ago using Red Hat 6 and Slackware 7. My first FOSS contribution was [http://cruxppc.org cruxppc], a port of the [http://crux.nu crux] distro to the power architecture platform; a couple of years later after starting the project though I left the team because Apple started selling x86 hardware. From that point on I did all sorts of sysadmin, qa and programming stuff. OpenStack is what interests me more recently and I do some programming in Tempest and TripleO.
I wrote [http://code.google.com/p/mlapd mlapd], an [http://www.postfix.org/SMTPD_POLICY_README.html access policy delegation] daemon for [http://postfix.org postfix], which at the time looked to me a very interesting challenge and it was a good excuse to start learning python.


Yes I do python now and currently I'm mostly playing with it enjoying the fun of using the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebSockets Websockets] introduced by HTML5.
I found Fedora and Archlinux to best suit my needs. Fedora in particular is very easy to maintain yet flexible enough to be used with success in many purposes. This is really a big achievement IMHO and Archlinux is indeed one of the few others that can match that.
 
I'm not the kind of guy who engages in distrowars, but I really found Fedora and Archlinux to be some of the best, for my needs. What I like more of Fedora is its big community and the fact that it's very easy to install and use while still very powerful, comfortable and reliable for the power users requirements. This is mostly the reason why I joined.
