My name is René Jr Purcell,I am from Quebec Canada,I have been using Linux for about 10 years now, started on slackware and I became a user of Fedora since core 3, I used Debian and Ubuntu for few year and I came back to use Fedora. I'm a sysadmin working for a small company here in Quebec city, we are RedHat partner since few years and I had the chance to get my RHCE. Since this day I really focussed on Redhat offering and by definition I'm trying to use/try as much as possible Fedora release to keep in touch with new killing feature and new technology like KVM.

About Me

My name is René Jr Purcell,I am from Quebec Canada,I have been using Linux since 1998, started on slackware and I became a user of Fedora since core 3, I used Debian and Ubuntu for few year and I came back to use Fedora. I'm an Openstack plaform administrator working for one of the biggest credit union in the world here in Levis.

Activities within Fedora

It's been a long time since I started thinking about what can I do to give back, but like many others, I didn't know where to start. I've always did some "support" on IRC and forum but I wanted more. So I decided to start looking a the infrastructure group to see how it's working in the community, how people work together.

I'm still learning the process, and follow people work on fedora Infrasctructure mailling list and on IRC. As a Linux lover I would like to help Fedora project to reach new users so I started to get involved in the Ambassador group and help on planning event on release days, talk about fedora in local LUG and etc...

I haven't contributed a lot to fedora since 4-5 years, I had kids and life is running so quick. During those last years I've developped a big interest in blockchain and distributed ledger technologies. Few weeks ago I decided to work on a new project, MyLiveCrypto ( Details on my blogpost https://arsenicks.wordpress.com/2018/03/06/new-project-mylivecrypto/ ). The main idea is to create a safe read only environnement using fedora so people would be able to reboot their pc, boot on the live distro, generate their transaction offline or online, as they wish, in a environnement exempt of spyware and virus.
