Background

Hi, I discovered Linux in about 1996, and have used it ever since, mainly in the area of scientific computing at large scale user facilities, such as X-Ray (Light), Neutron and Muon sources. Since completing my PhD in 1998 I have worked for a few National Labs (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Diamond Light Source) in the UK then Oak Ridge National Laboratory and now Brookhaven National Laboratory in the US. I have generally had roles focusing on different aspects of scientific computing from development to sysadmin. I earned my RHCE in 2004 but have since let it lapse!
