Fedora Atomic Desktops Special Interest Group (SIG)
SIG to co-ordinate efforts related to all Fedora Atomic Desktops. The Fedora Atomic Desktops are rpm-ostree based variants of Fedora that each include a specific desktop environment:
- Silverblue (GNOME)
- Kinoite (KDE Plasma)
- Sway Atomic (formerly Sericea)
- Budgie Atomic (formerly Onyx)
See the official announcement in the Fedora Magazine.
Scope
Bring together people interested in Atomic desktops in Fedora to help improve them and push toward making this the default option in Fedora.
This (non-exhaustively) regroups people from the Silverblue SIG, KDE SIG, Sway SIG, and Budgie SIG.
Getting Involved
If you want to get involved then that's awesome! Membership is currently ephemeral and defined by participation - there's no sign-up page or list. So, how to "join"? Get involved!
Issue Tracker
We are tracking issues that impact all Atomic Desktops in the Issue Tracker repo in the Fedora namespace on GitLab.com.
Please file desktop specific issues in their respective issue trackers:
- Silverblue issue tracker (see also the Workstation issue tracker)
- Kinoite (KDE SIG issue tracker)
- Sway Atomic (Sway SIG issue tracker)
- Budgie Atomic (Budgie SIG issue tracker)
Meetings
No meetings are planned currently. You can vote to help us find a time for the Atomic SIG to meet and see the current results of the vote.
During meetings, notes are taken in a temporary pad and are then added to the SIG issue tracker repo at the end of the meeting.
Chat (Matrix only)
- #atomic-desktops:fedoraproject.org on Matrix (or #atomic-desktops:fedoraproject.org on chat.fedoraproject.org)
- No IRC channel.
Discussion - Discourse
We don't have a tag yet. Prefer filing issues or asking on Matrix, or use #silverblue
/ #kinoite
in the Ask section or #silverblue-team
/ kinoite-team
in the Project section.
