== About me ==
I'm a final year MS student in Software Systems with a strong interest in open-source software development, research, and Linux. As an open-source enthusiast with a passion for technology, I aim to make meaningful contributions to open-source projects and the tech industry. I enjoy exploring, researching, and inventing new technologies related to Linux and open-source software. My keen interest in Linux systems and their environment drives me to continuously learn and innovate in this field. Through my studies and projects, I seek to enhance my knowledge and skills, contributing to the growth and advancement of open-source communities.
I'm a final year MS student who is genuinely interested in '''Open Source & Free Software'''. I'm a huge fan of Linux Operating Systems especially '''Fedora''' :P

I started my coding journey in 2023 as an ''SWE intern'' & was promoted to '''Research Engineer Intern''' at the same company[https://www.steppingedge.com/]. After that I started focusing and involving myself with the open-source communities.
After using Fedora Linux for a year, I grew increasingly curious and began researching and exploring the open-source community. This led me to join and actively contribute to the community. My involvement started with the JGEC Winter of Code (Jan. 2024 - Mar. 2024), where I contributed to the development of the EagleView image manipulation Python package. During this program, I implemented an RGB view feature and revamped the documentation for better usability and performance, earning 23rd rank among 184 participants.

Building on this experience, I was selected as a mentor for the GirlScript Summer of Code (May 2024 - Present). In this role, I guided beginners and enthusiasts in contributing to the "Scrape Up" project, a Python package for web scraping that extracts data from platforms like GitHub, Twitter, and Instagram. I reviewed code, approved pull requests, and requested changes, helping new contributors navigate and thrive in the open-source development community.

About me

I'm a final year MS student who is genuinely interested in Open Source & Free Software. I'm a huge fan of Linux Operating Systems especially Fedora :P

I started my coding journey in 2023 as an SWE intern & was promoted to Research Engineer Intern at the same company[1]. After that I started focusing and involving myself with the open-source communities.

Apart from my technical background with programming and development, I also have a considerable advantage due to my experience in graphic designing and hardware diagnostics over 4 years of experience, giving me a well-rounded skill set across software, hardware, and design :)

Participation in Open-Source Programs

GirlScript Summer of Code 2024

I got selected as mentor for a Python package project and mentored over 26 contributors, including 17 newcomers, helping them understand the project's framework and guiding them as they made their first contributions.

After that, I was selected as a Project Administrator for my project, where I managed the overall project[2], facilitated contributor onboarding, and ensured smooth collaboration among participants and mentors. I helped them learn the best practices for communication and workflow to improve the collaborative environment.

JGEC Winter of Code 2024

After using Fedora Linux for a year, my curiosity about the open-source community grew, leading me to participate in the JGEC Winter of Code. I contributed to the development of the EagleView[3] image manipulation Python package, where I implemented an RGB view feature and revamped the documentation to improve usability and performance. My efforts were recognized, and I ranked 23rd out of 184 participants.

What I Do in the Fedora Project

Infrastructure

I participate and host meetings at matrix channel[4] and I also contribute to updating the outage at statusfpo repository[5]. I'm just starting out to contribute more in technical aspects rather than community-related tasks, so I'm currently exploring the projects and learning as well...XP

Community Operations

I mostly help by fixing and improving documentations in Community Operations(CommOps) repositories and documentation sites. When I joined this team, they had shifted from Pagure to GitLab, so I started updating the documentations and gradually became more involved in community-related activities. I'm also an Editor for Community Blog, where I edit/review articles to ensure they follow the guidelines. I participate in weekly and monthly meetings and I'm always willing to volunteer.
