A program is free software if users have all of these freedoms. Thus, you should be free to redistribute copies, either with or without modifications, either gratis or charging a fee for distribution, to anyone anywhere. Being free to do these things means (among other things) that you do not have to ask or pay for permission to do so.

About Me

Hi Visitor, it's ADM here. Though my name is Abhradip Mukherjee, ADM has now become my identity on various mailing lists. So it is better that I also mention the name that most are familiar with.

To start with I would like to state that I am a enthusiastic person always willing to try out new things in life. I love to eat and I am a non-vegiterian. I am an Indian (apart from being a proud bengali). I love to eat Biryani (Remember if you plan to invite me). I am currently carrying a small Acer Aspire One with a Photon+ connection from Tata Indicom.

Schooling

My first school was Mukul Bithi at Kankurgachi, Kolkata (KG) Then it was Laban Hrad Vidyapith ( Saltlake, Kolkata ) all the way from class I to XII

College

I completed my Bachelor of Technology from Techno India College of Technology, Kolkata. Then before I could think of going into further studies I was selected in Campus interview of Kasura Technologies, Bangalore. The joy of getting selected after such tough competition made me feel that I should try the industry first.

Campus Selection in the year 2008

It was just before the recession hit the worldwide market. I got selected in Kasura Technologies ( a third party chip verification company ) after my tussle with all the students from 16 top class technical colleges in West Bengal (Only 4 students were selected at the end including me). I was happy and proud. But destiny had something else in mind.

Recession in 2009

I completed my B.tech approached my company and heard the same that others like me had to hear from other companies. They told me to wait for indefinite time to get the joining. Being true gentleman they advised to search for new job if we want.

HCL

Back at Kolkata I was seriously looking for a job. I got a few calls from here and there but none was what I wanted. Until I got the call from HCL infosystems. Now here was a company that I can say a much better alternative to my previous employer.

Noida

I am now in Noida taking training from HCL on network management.

Where is FOSS

Ah! no I dont like this OS in the middle. I call it Free Software only. Also why not change the question a bit?

Ok! What is Free Software

"Free software" is a matter of liberty, not price. To understand the concept, you should think of "free" as in "free speech," not as in "free beer."

Free software is a matter of the users' freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software. More precisely, it means that the program's users have the four essential freedoms:

   * The freedom to run the program, for any purpose (freedom 0).
   * The freedom to study how the program works, and change it to make it do what you wish (freedom 1). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
   * The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor (freedom 2).
   * The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements (and modified versions in general) to the public, so that the whole community benefits (freedom 3). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.

A program is free software if users have all of these freedoms. Thus, you should be free to redistribute copies, either with or without modifications, either gratis or charging a fee for distribution, to anyone anywhere. Being free to do these things means (among other things) that you do not have to ask or pay for permission to do so.
