Live USB Creator Stand
I have the materials to make a Live USB Creator stand
- Acrylic (Clear or Blue?)
- Neutrik Rugged USB Receptacle
- Gravograph Laser Cutter/Engraver
Plan
Item | Size | Cost | Status | Website from (if any) | Notes |
Neutrik USB Recepacle | ~25mm dia. | free! | OBTAINED | Neutrik | Rugged & protected & No cost! |
Acrylic | ~50cmx50cm (sq.) | Free or low cost | Pending | From School | May even be no-cost! |
USB Extension Lead | 1.5m? | ~£3.50 | pending | Tesco/Maplin etc. | Could be donated :) |
Draft
I made a really quick rough draft, which is downloadable here
A better draft is being made up, and more pictures etc. will go here when it gets done.
Design Specs.
In order to be successful, the stand needs to be;
- Rugged
- Easy to use
- Easy to store
- Simple to understand
- Fairly Basic
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Fairly cheap, so that if it does break one can be made again quickly
- Safe! (i.e. no sharp corners)
