Foundries listed there all contribute in a major way to the free/libre fonts commons. We thank them all with all our heart. (Some people will claim those are not foundries. They're organisations that create fonts. That makes them foundries for us).
- The Greek Font Society has proved a very dynamic publisher of high-quality modern fonts. Its objectives are described in this TUG article.
- SIL is a major actor in the free/libre font world, thanks to its Non Roman Script Initiative
- The STIX project has embarked in a multi-year effort to codify mathematics in Unicode and publish the resulting font. This epic feat is described in this TUG presentation.
