About me
My name is Fabian Kanngießer. I'm a 22 year old student from Thuringia. I visited the "Berufsbildungszentrum Schmalkalden" where I graduated in 2010. I attend the "Technische Universität" Ilmenau and study computer science. I started to use fedora after I heard about Linux in school from a teacher. Since then I try to convince my classmates and almost everyone in my environment to use fedora. ;-) Phrases like "But you can not play %{certain_games} never discouraged me.
Activities within Fedora
By now I'm a fedora ambassador and one of the few ambassadors here in Thuringia. Also I want to collect more ideas about how to spread fedora. When I can convince somebody from using fedora it makes me always happy. By now I tried to persuade friends, family members and as mentioned above classmates. I also showed my teachers several projects of fedora like the "Fedora Electronic Labs" project. My greatest achievement by now is probably the mere fact that our teachers started to spend more time on Linux then they did before.
Hobbies
Besides contributing to Fedora I have several other hobbies. I like to go fishing and if you think this is boring, you are completly wrong. It is very exciting. You are sitting on your chair after you have thrown out your fishing rod, waiting for the big catch! And you meet very interesting people as well, with which you can talk. I also like table tennis. Except for that I watch soccer. It is an amazing feeling to stand in the "Südkurve" (south curve) of the "Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld" watching the FC Carl Zeiss Jena winning!
