Padang City

Padang is the capital of West Sumatra province in Indonesia, and is a gateway to get to different areas in the realm of Minangkabau. Padang city open to the sea ocean Indonesia is famous for its beautiful beaches and islands that adorn the beauty of the city's outskirts.

Minangkabau International Airport

Minangkabau International Airport (MIA) is the principal airport serving the province of West Sumatra on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. It is located about 23 km north-west of Padang, in Ketaping, Padang Pariaman regency. The airport became operational in July 2005, replacing the old Tabing Airport in Padang. The airport is named after the Minangkabau ethnic group who inhabit the region. There is one terminal building for both international flights and domestic flights. The airport has 17 check-in counters, 5 baggage conveyors, and 9 ticket sales counters. The architecture of airport terminal adopting bagonjong (spired roof), Minangkabau vernacular architecture commonly found in rumah gadang traditional house.

Angkot Padang is one good option mode for the transportation and most major roads and destinations are covered by multiple Angkot Padang, the journey cost are around 2000 IDR-3000 IDR

Bis Kota, same as the field of Angkot Padang but like a Mini Bus so could carry more passengers and the cost journey are same with Angkot Padang.

Metered Taxi also the most comfortable option with air-conditioned cabs that has flag down rates of 10.000 IDR and an additional 2000 IDR per succeeding 200 meters.

Proposed Venues

(Indonesian: Universitas Andalas abbreviated Unand) is the oldest university in Indonesia outside of Java. It consists of 11 faculties, most of them located at the main campus building, Limau Manis, 12 km from the centre of Padang, West Sumatra. This campus occupies 5 km², at an elevation of about 100 m.
