Fedora Performance

Improving Bootup Time

See DefaultServices for a detailed attempt at reducing bootup time by tracking down unnecessary default services and fixing them or documenting the necessarity of them enabled by default otherwise

Refer to http://people.redhat.com/berrange/systemtap/bootprobe/ for using SystemTap which is included in Fedora Core 5 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update 3 and above.

Application Responsiveness

See https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-list/2006-January/msg00141.html for a initial attempt at benchmarking differences between themes in GNOME desktop
