This page contains information about the Fedora Project at the Red Hat Summit 2013. You can compare this to the original vision for the event on its own page.
The Red Hat Summit is a conference where Red Hat converses with its customers. A Fedora presence supports the event by demonstrating the importance of community in the Red Hat ecosystem, but also benefits Fedora because Red Hat's customers are sometimes interested in looking at and contributing to Fedora once they find out about us.
The coordinator for the Fedora presence at Summit is Robyn Bergeron. The Summit-planning mailing list is also used to coordinate the logistics of prepping and attending Summit, and those intending to attend or participate in planning are encouraged to sign up to receive mail from this list.

Red Hat Summit 2013 Raspberry Pi “Bake-Off” Contest Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES.
Eligibility. The Red Hat Summit 2013 Raspberry PI “Bake-Off” Contest (“Contest”) is open to Red Hat Summit attendees who are the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry (“Participant”). Employees of Red Hat, Inc. and each of its respective affiliated companies, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies, and other agents, and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, such employees are not eligible to enter. Government employees and contractors, as well as employees of entities that are majority-owned by a government, are not eligible to enter. If you are entering as part of a company or on behalf of your employer, these rules are binding on you, individually, and/or your employer. If you are acting within the scope of your employment, as an employee, contractor, or agent of another party, you warrant that such party has full knowledge of your actions and has consented thereto, including your potential receipt of a prize. You further warrant that your actions do not violate your employer's or company's policies and procedures.
Entry and Participation. The Contest will take place at the 2013 Red Hat Summit in Boston, MA between Tuesday, June 11 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (“EDT”) and Thursday, June 13 at 3:00 p.m. EDT (the “Contest Period”). To enter the Contest, visit the Red Hat Summit Fedora Booth during the Contest Period and fill out a registration form with your name and email address. You must complete all required information on the registration form to be eligible to enter. The registration forms will be available at the Fedora table beginning on Tuesday, June 11 where you will be asked to provide your name and associated company. The registration forms will also be used to identify the Pi projects that are not completed within one day’s time and are kept at the Hynes overnight. You may be asked to answer optional questions and/or register for future notices of online promotions, but you are not required to answer any optional questions or agree to receive future e-mails from Sponsor to be eligible for entry in the Contest.
Once entered, you will choose a few Raspberry Pi accessory parts provided by the Fedora Team and customize your own Raspberry Pi device. You can customize the Pi in any way except through use of a soldering iron.. Judging parameters will include:
50% novel use of the Raspberry Pi, 30% complete and working Pi device, 20% ingenuity and quality of design. Judges will apply the criteria to each finalist, and using a range voting method will assign a value between 0-9 to each finalist. The Participant who has the highest score at the end of the contest will win a prize, with the highest possible score being 27 total points from three judges. In the event of a tie, the participant with the highest score in the “novel use of the Raspberry Pi” category will be named the winner.
Selection of Winner. On or about June 13 at 3:00 p.m. EDT, Sponsor will announce the Winner at the Fedora booth. The Winner will be the Participant who receives the highest score from the judges during the Contest Period. Winner does not have to be present during the Announcement.
Prizes and Odds. The Winner will receive their own Raspberry Pi device with an approximate retail value (“ARV”) of $20 USD and a $70 gift certificate to Adafruit’s online store (“Prize”). The total Prize ARV is $90.
Prize is subject to availability and Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible Participants who complete the Task. Sponsor will deliver the Prize to Winner via standard shipping approximately two (2) weeks after the Announcement. Sponsor will not replace Prize if lost or stolen. The Prize may not be redeemed for cash value and may not be transferred or assigned, except by Sponsor. The Prize consists of only the item specifically listed as part of the Prize.
