Revision as of 01:15, 5 March 2009
Are you the administrator of a Fedora web app but need some icons or a nice template to spruce it up? Think you need to improve the usability of your application but you're not sure how? Do you want to run a marketing campaign on the Fedora wiki but need some graphical banners?
Basically, if you need any computer graphics relating to Fedora, or need some design help making your application usable, drop a request here!
How to use the service
For users
Add a new entry in the ""Request list"" below, specify the type of graphic you need and any details (e.g., date/time/place for an event poster, URL for a usability review, etc.), and contact info (email and irc are good) so an artist/designer can get in contact with you if there's any information they need to create the design. Please add changes to the top of the list of "Request List"
Watch the page to see when is taken/completed. If it doesn't seem like anyone is picking it up, forward your request to fedora-art-list@redhat.com.
For Fedora Art contributors
When you start working on a new design change the status to reflect is taken. When ready, change the status to 'closed'. If any artwork or design you come up with might be generally useful for others, post it here so we can save it as a resource.

Wiki Banner, Logo, and default icon for the "Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux" group. Open ideas are welcome, but one that was brought up was a Tugboat pulling a barge of 'Packages'. We have been told that ideas that would not fly would be a Hat looking like the USS Enterprise :). Thanks. |

Updates to the progress of this request: A simple idea for the logo: A symbol, quite corporate to mix simple and corporate - community and enterprise - including the main letters of EPEL : EXtra Packages for Enterprise... This is what the symbol is about. The red color has been used to honour Red Hat, while the blue in the EPEL text is for Fedora. The style of the letters and their mixing creates a flying eagle symbolizing the growth of the project. Below there are the full logo, the icon in 128x128 and the banner.

Some comments on lajir's proposal (sorry if I sound very harsh): (NicuBuculei 07:16, 17 November 2008 (UTC))
- the image is very blurry, like it was created as a very large size and then called down, please make it sharper, it's hard to understand;
- the font is odd, too condensed;
- the colors are wrong, from the blue background to the fedora logo on the ship's flag;
- the proposed EPEL logo, on the banner is impossible to read (too blurry). And I don't get its metaphor.
Some comments on the Symbolized one from pangr? WOW. Thats perfect. ([User:Smooge|Smooge]] 17:35, 17 Feb 2008 (UTC))
- My apologies for not seeing this earlier.
- WOW.

Graphics for the game starfighter
Requester | Date | Request | ArtTeam assignee | Status |
2008-09-14 |
We've recently learned that one of the games we've been shipping uses some non free graphics, for now we've removed this game from Fedora, but we would like to see it return. Thus I wonder if one of you would be willing to create replacement graphics for this game as its quite popular. The game in question is called project starfighter do "yum install starfighter" to give it a try (we cannnot remove packages from released Fedora versions). The non free graphics which need replacing are:
The graphics in the installed game are all packed in a single .pak file, which requires special tools to open. Click here for a normal tar.gz packaged version of the game resources. |

GPScorrelate is an application that allows to add GPS coordinates to JPEG images based on a GPS logfile, that contains timestamps and coordinates. I would like to get this package into Fedora, but unluckily it does not have a logo for the application menu. |

Posters and banners for rotation on fedoraproject.org front-page and in blogs. For the Summer coding ideas for 2009 page we need to target contributors to suggest and offer to mentor specific ideas. "Contributors to generate ideas and mentor students for 2009 Summer coding projects," is a specific theme. These are the ideas that many students us to propose projects for the upcoming Google Summer of Code (GSoC); other Summer/student coding projects may use this list. We do not know yet if the Fedora Project and JBoss.org are going to be accepted for GSoC 2009. For this reason, I've been separating our general "Summer coding" work from the the GSoC work |
