Description
This is a very basic test to check that Xorg can detect and configure the video controller and attached monitor.
How to test
- Boot into runlevel 3 by passing
3
as a boot option - Log in as a normal user
- Run this command:
Xorg -retro
- Check the display
- Hit
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace
to stop Xorg
Expected Results
- The display shows an ugly black and white "stippled" pattern and X-shaped mouse pointer
- If multiple displays are attached, they will be mirrored
