The Goal
The goal of the Sage Fedora Activity Day is to get Sage into Fedora, packaged, reviewed and built for at least rawhide.
The Purpose
Sage is a powerful GPL compatible mathematics suite that -from what I understand- does a lot of what other (more expensive) Math suites do. For more details on Sage, see http://sagemath.org/tour.html
Having a powerful Math suite like Sage in Fedora enables a lot of Scientists and Mathematicians to use Fedora as their platform for their research and/or education.
The Scope
The scope entails Sage itself, all of its requirements, and all of the requirements to its optional features.
