Updated Documentation and Translation Schedule for Fedora 13
Submission Branches for Anaconda
Representatives of the Fedora Translation and Documentation Projects met with John Poelstra to discuss the Project Schedule for Fedora 13. Noriko Mizumoto represented the FLP. The highlights include the elimination of the Alpha and Beta freezes for Release Notes and Guides, which will allow the translators to continue working on the documents as they are being written.
Anaconda developer David Cantrell requested the Fedora Translation team to submit translations only to the development branch of anaconda and not to a released branch, since post-release the translation updates would ideally not be used. In this case, the f12-branch. Piotr Drag closed the submissions to this branch temporarily, however they were reopened again after Miloš Komarčević pointed out that localized spins/remixes of released versions may require the updates. At present, a warning message has been posted on the anaconda submission page, to inform translators about pushing submissions to the 'master' branch for the next release of Fedora.

The updated schedule has been put up by John Poelstra at the following place:

QA Testing for  FLP
Noriko Mizumoto initiated a discussion with the Fedora Quality Assurance team regarding the Localization testing events that are planned during the Fedora 13 Release Schedule. This phase was introduced during Fedora 12 development, to allow translators to review their translations on the graphical user interface and to ensure that updated translations and their fixes were being included in the newer builds.

James Laska from the Fedora QA team has been providing guidance to  formalize a test plan and to draw up the reference documentation that can be used for the testing plan.

Domingo Becker and Igor Pires Soares highlighted the need for testing the Installation Program - Anaconda and the difficulty that a LiveCD installation poses while testing its interface.

virt-viewer Added to translate.fedoraproject.org
As an update to the earlier discussion about upgrading the Transifex instance for translate.fedoraproject.org, Paul Frields thanked the Fedora Project members who have been working to fix the issues preventing the upgrade. The work was temporarily suspended due to the holiday break. After the required packages were built by Rakesh Pandit and Jens Petersen, presently Toshio Kuratomi and Ricky Zhou have been trying to set up a staging server.

CVS Submission Connection Broken
Errors in owners.list File
Iñigo Varela from the Asturian translation team reported a problem with submission of files on translate.fedoraproject.org. Piotr Drag identified a broken connection with cvs.fedoraproject.org as the cause for this problem.

Submission Branches for Anaconda

Anaconda developer David Cantrell requested the Fedora Translation team to submit translations only to the development branch of anaconda and not to a released branch, since post-release the translation updates would ideally not be used[1]. In this case, the f12-branch. Piotr Drag closed the submissions to this branch temporarily[2], however they were reopened again[3] after Miloš Komarčević pointed out that localized spins/remixes of released versions may require the updates[4]. At present, a warning message has been posted on the anaconda submission page, to inform translators about pushing submissions to the 'master' branch for the next release of Fedora[5].

virt-viewer Added to translate.fedoraproject.org

The virt-viewer module has been added to translate.fedoraproject.org and is now ready to accept translation submissions[1].

Errors in owners.list File

Incorrect information in the owners.list file, relating to Bugzilla account entries for Simplified and Traditional Chinese translation teams are generating errors from Buzilla[1][2]. This was reported by Piotr Drag[3].

New Members/Coordinators

Taylon Silmer took over the coordinatorship of the Brazilian Portuguese translation team from Igor Soares Pires[1].
