We are currently on pace to finish under budget. An on-target pace would be a total spend of about $50,000 at the end of August.

Basic FAmSCo activity

What is this section's purpose?
This section gives some quick health indicators about how much FAmSCo is communicating. Sometimes FAmSCo members can't make a meeting due to travel or conflicts with their $DAYJOB, but the combination of meeting attendance plus email is a nice metric.

FAmSCo meetings

This year, FAmSCo has held 26 FAmSCo_meetings. Overall attendance has been:

  • 24 out of 26 -- Susmit, Joerg
  • 22 out of 26 -- David
  • 21 out of 26 -- Maria
  • 19 out of 26 -- Max
  • 13 out of 26 -- Luca

FAmSCo mailing list

FAmSco's mailing list received 521 messages till today (emails before opening the archives are included) --Jsimon 09:23, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

General accomplishments or decisions

What is this section's purpose?
This section discusses the non-regional achievements within either FAmSCo or the larger Ambassadors project from this month.
  • Decided to not open up the FAmSCo trac - After quite a long period and a bit of effort on a number of members of FAmSCo, we have come to the realization that exposing the trac instance to public view is essentially not possible. Each solution we arrived at placed us further away from transparency that the situation now is. The reasons for this are:
    • A significant amount of information that contains personal data is contained in the tickets that currently exist. Those include addresses, bank account numbers, credit card numbers, etc.
    • Moving forward, additional tickets will be created that of a necessity will require submission of personal data for reimbursement. (FAmSCo considered having Max be emailed directly via an encrypted email, having encrypted data be submitted to the trac instance, and a number of other 'solutions' that proved in FAmSCo's opinion to be unworkable.)

Budget

Where does FAmSCo's budget come from?
The FAmSCo budget rolls up into the larger Community Architecture expenses. On that page, FAmSCo's budget is represented by the "Regional support" line item.

FY11

Total budget: $100,000

Total spend (through November 28): $54,335

We are currently on pace to finish under budget.

However, there are expenses from India/APAC from earlier in the year that still need to be found and accounted for, which will increase our total spend once they are accounted for.

Regional support

NA -- $31,730

EMEA -- $13,765

LATAM -- $5,735

  • $2,510 -- Support for FLISOL
  • $1,675 -- FPL to FISL
  • $1,355 -- Fedora 13 media
  • $195 -- Swag for Mexico

India/APAC -- $3,105

  • $2,400 -- Support for swag creation by Harish
  • $480 -- Support for BASIS
  • $225 -- Fedora 13 release parties

Events

From December 2009 till November 2010 a number of at least 183 Events overall was held through the amazing work of our Ambassadors.(after consulting dramsey - the Akihabara for the APAC Region was counted 1 Event for every 4x2h)

Over the years we could constantly increase our Event participation
