Why do you want to work with the Fedora Project?
Because I'm using MATE desktop environment and I want to participate in its development under Google Summer of Code.
Do you have any past involvement with the Fedora project or any other open source project as a contributor?
Yes, I have reported bugs and requested small features in application, but I didn't contribute to open source project as a developer YET. That's why I want to apply for GSoC, to learn how to participate and get experience.
Did you participate with the past GSoC programs, if so which years, which organizations?
No, I didn't, this would be my first.
Will you continue contributing/ supporting the Fedora project after the GSoC 2012 program, if yes, which team(s), you are interested with?
I will definitely continue contributing to MATE because that's the #1 desktop environment I'm using and I really want to help the developers improving it.
Why should we choose you over other applicants?
Because:
- I have great commitment to open source applications (I'm using only open source programs on my laptop)
- I know C very well and C++ well. I have written a small and unusual medieval strategic game in C with SDL, and I have written a half-finished 3D software renderer in C++. (I'm going to finish it, I just didn't have enough time because of my university, and I'm still learning the very little details of C++) [I'm going to record a video of these project and upload it to show them)
- I have contacted Stefano Karapetsas, the mentor of MATE via e-mail and IRC too, so he already knows me (kind of).
