Why do you want to work with the Fedora Project?

Fedora Community is worthy of the leading technical community among thousands of open source communities. I started using Linux since 2004, and my first distro is Fedora. I joined Fedora Project in 2011 around and I've gained a lot from participation.

Fedora Community has lots of open source developers, and most of them are awesome people in special area, and the reason that keeps me absorbed in Fedora is the foundations: “Freedom, Friends, Features, First”.

Do you have any past involvement with the Fedora project or any other open source project as a contributor?

I'm a long-time Fedora Project ambassador and packager. Meanwhile I sometimes contribute to projects I use often by submitting fixes.

Did you participate with the past GSoC programs, if so which years, which organizations?

No. Honestly I really didn't have any spare time in the past.

Will you continue contributing/ supporting the Fedora project after the GSoC 2015 program, if yes, which team(s), you are interested with?

Sure, I will remain a packager certainly.

Why should we choose you over other applicants?

  • I'm familiar with open source toolchain.
  • I'm an ardent supporter of Fedora, meanwhile I've been a packager of Fedora for years. Before that, I chose Fedora to be my daily distro.
  • I know how to sort different concepts, and consolidate them.
  • I know how to communicate with right and excellent people modestly.
  • I know how to effectively solve the problem, I can retrieve information from documents, manual or even upstream directly.
  • I know how to write C/C++/Python/Perl/Haskell/OCaml/ programs, although I can't say I'm a skilled person on those languages, I will try my best to solve issues.
