Replacing Pidgin with Empathy
I'm a bit wary of replacing Pidgin with Empathy. Some notes:
- Empathy/Telepathy do not natively support AIM or Yahoo.
- AIM/Yahoo support requires
telepathy-haze
andtelepathy-haze-mission-control
. Do we plan on marking these packages as default?
- AIM/Yahoo support requires
- Empathy cannot currently send/receive files. Will this be fixed by release time?
- I don't believe it will, since if I remember correctly the spec for file transfers is still being worked on - Brian
