Some users have noted problems in the rendering of the Fedora Planet in certain browsers. Please report any and all bugs here under the section for your browser and operating system. Also, report if the Planet is rendering fine.

Process for checking for issues

If there is weirdness at any time, nab a screenshot and report it.

Update: Chris Tylers found the corresponding bug in mozilla's bugzilla: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215055

For the best chances of reproducing, test with smooth scrolling enabled.

  1. From the top, scroll to the bottom of the page using the Page Down key.
  2. From the top, scroll to the bottom of the page using the down arrow key.
  3. From the top, scroll to the bottom of the page by using the scroll bar, at various speeds.
  4. Repeat 1-3, but from bottom to top.

Process for reporting issues

  1. Take a screenshot of the browser window, scrolled to the problematic area (no PDFs, please)
    • Note: You may need to use an application like KSnapshot to take the screen shot on a delay if you can easily reproduce the bug
  2. Get the user agent string
  3. Upload the image and add [[Category:Planet browser compatibility tests]] to the description
  4. Use the following syntax and add it under the proper section:
{{browser bug
|image=Image:Name of image you uploaded.png
|useragent=user agent string
|opsys=operating system name and version
|browser=browser name and version
|problem=description of problem
|signature=~~~~
}}

Process for reporting non-issues

  1. Get the user agent string
  2. Use the following syntax and add it under the proper section:
{{browser ok
|useragent=user agent string
|opsys=operating system name and version
|browser=browser name and version
|signature=~~~~
}}

Browser matrix

Browsers for their current versions and their previous versions should be tested. The number in each box is the number of bad reports followed by the number of total reports (good plus bad). The smaller the fraction, the better. Bold cells are ones with over 50% bad reports.

Last tallied by Bochecha 12:29, 18 July 2008 (UTC). Click the number to get to the proper section to add your bugs in.

BAD: Windows XP SP2, Firefox 3: See the screenshot. When scrolling down until a certain point, everything is black, until the very bottom of the page. I have to say that it appears with the exact same machine as the report I made above, which was OK (same machin implies same OS and same browser, no change between the 2 reports).

This is my first attempt at adding to a wiki, so I am sure there are some things wrong here. The directions for reporting this bug are not complete.

BAD: Windows XP SP2, Firefox 3: See the screenshot, the picture from the first post is splitted between the 2 posts... Do I have to mention that is it once again the exact same machin as my 2 other reports ? :)

Description of problem

Scrolling corrupted horizontally.

About half-way down the page, dcrolling appears to move the page behind a horizontal portion of the screen. Moving the mouse away from the browser and back, or running screen shot, resolves the corruption. Therefore, no image. I assumed it was funky html from someone's blog before I saw the entry pointing to this page. Happens when scrolling from top or bottom, with mouse wheel, scroll bar, arrow and page down/page up keys.

Please test with this page also, as it is a slightly modified version of Fedora Planet that we need feedback on.
