Description
Epiphany is the web browser for the GNOME desktop. Its goal is to be simple and easy to use. Epiphany ties together many GNOME components in order to let you focus on the Web content, instead of the browser application.
See new features in Gnome Web.
Setup
- Install
epiphany
package. Empty Link use sudo dnf install epiphany
How to test
- Test Gnome Web with sites you visit daily, like Google, YouTube, Wikipedia, Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Slashdot, etc. and don't forget on your local sites and sites using HTTPS. Open multiple tabs as many as it's your usual daily peak.
- Play HTML5 video on YouTube. Try pause, play, fullscreen mode, video seek, changing video resolution, etc.
- Download some files.
- Add and open bookmarks from "bookmarks icon" (black square with white star). Manage bookmarks there.
- Add bookmarks by right click.
- Login to some pages and store your passwords in Gnome Web. Manage them in Menu (three lines, hamburger, button), Preferences, Privacy tab, Passwords.
- Configure Gnome Web in Hamburger button, Preferences.
- Save page as web application: Hamburger button- "Install Site As Web Application..." and look for it and open in Gnome Shell Activities Overview.
- Try other actions in Hamburger menu.
Expected Results
- All websites should be rendered correctly and look like in other web browsers. You can play HTML5 videos and if you have
flash-plugin
installed use Flash. - You can play video flawlessly and without any glitches or crash.
- Files should be downloaded to default location, usually your localized "Downloads" directory and automatically opened.
- Adding, opening and removing bookmarks should work.
- Gnome Web should ask you before it stores password. You can show and remove your passwords.
- Every option change should provide result you are expecting from description.
- You can find and open web application from Activities like local installed applications.
- Gnome Web should not crash.
- Every action should work as you expect.
