Fedora Accessibility Special Interest Group

Mission

The A11Y SIG (Special Interest Group) is committed to being the trusted open source community developing innovative FLOSS in an inclusive, diverse, respectful environment.

We value the contributions by our unique community members and we realize that our success comes through the combined efforts of each and everyone contributing to our mission.

We prioritize accessibility in our toolings and workflow. We aim to become the all-accessible Linux provider and community that empowers EVERYONE to thrive.

How you can help

If you have no idea how to help us, here are some areas we always need help with:

  • Packagers: There are so many interesting packages that are not yet packaged for Fedora. If you want to see it in Fedora, here are Fedora's packaging guidelines.
  • Reviewers: Only a few people are doing a11y changes reviews. Help us review so that more packages can be included.
  • Testing/QA: If you want to help test KDE software, use the updates-testing repository, and report bugs. You might also like to get acquainted with Fedora's QA process.
  • Wiki: Maintain A11Y wiki/docs pages and keep the info up-to-date. Here is a good place to start.

Joining the SIG

Joining the A11Y SIG is as simple as being part of Fedora and making meaningful contributions. Once you are a contributor to Fedora, you can join the SIG by adding your name below and communicating with the rest of the team in the usual Fedora channels.

Historical

  • Historical SIG pages: Those pages are outdated (see the top of this page for up to date content). They are kept here for reference.
