About me

I'm a german student (12th grade) and interested in open source for years. I joined the FrOSCon 2010 because of a friend of mine and requested fedora Ambassador membership while talking to other ambassadors, which recommended me to do so. I manage the network of my school and are going to migrate more and more servers/services to linux and also are the main sound engineer.

What I want to do at Fedora

I want to spread fedora around the world, especially in my community. My goal is to share the spirit of open source and Linux. I'm going to migrate my school's system more to linux, and I think this is a good point to make students get in touch with linux, especially fedora.

Linux and me

I discovered linux in a computer magazine which called it a safe alternative for browsing. This one (SuSE) then killed my whole system which made me switch back to Windows. After a while of Windows computing I discovered Ubuntu, which worked as I wanted and made me explore linux. A few months later, I switched between Ubuntu and several other linux distributions, which also included fedora. Thanks to any0n3 and the problems Ubuntu caused because of the NVIDIA drivers I now completely chose fedora as my prefered Desktop distribution.

Server administration

I'm server administrator for like 2 years now, using debian as server operating system. In school I'm going to switch to CentOS as virtualization host and then a Windows Server 2003 RC2 VM (required by teachers) and debian or CentOS (unsure right now).
