Background
- Fedora was one of the fist GNU/Linux distros that I was working on. I love working on it for several reasons. Fist, I love "Freedom" and Fedora is a "Free" OS. The second reason is that Fedora has many nice features. Finally, I love the Fedora Project's core values.
- I am currently an active member of the Hanoi Linux User Group (HanoiLUG).
Activites within Fedora
I was organizing and participating in Fedora events, including:
- Distribute Fedora medias (CDs,DVDs) for free to students studying at my university and others
- Organize Fedora release parties with Mr. Truong Anh Tuan from Fedora 14 to Fedora 16 in Hanoi
- Help students and everbody join the Fedora Project and its Sub-Projects
- Explain to everbody about four core values of Fedora frequently
- Organize Fedora and Linux studying classes with Mr. Truong Anh Tuan and others from 2009 to present in Hanoi, Thai Nguyen
I also joined the Fedora Sub-Projects, including:
- Fedora Ambassadors Project
- Fedora Free Media Program
Other Activities within FOSS Community
I was participating in a large number of FOSS communities events such as:
- Ubuntu release parties from Ubuntu 9.04 to Ubuntu 11.10 in Hanoi
- Software Freedom Day from 2009 up to present in Hanoi
- GNOME 3 release party in Hanoi
- FOSS@HUS, FOSS@ICTU in 2011
Objective
I love GNU/Linux distros so much, so I want to be a FOSS Contributor. Clearly, I want to be a Contributor to the Fedora Project to represent, promote, expand it and its ideals to the FOSS Community in my country.
Summary
In the future, I hope that Fedora will be the best OS and there will be more and more people using Fedora in Vietnam.
