Description
GNOME comes with lots of changes to System Settings, including improvements to the main interface as well to individual settings panels. Read more.
Setup
- Open "overview" - "Settings" OR top right dropdown "Settings"
How to test
- Change desktop wallpaper in "Appearance". Click "Add Picture" and select from Files. Try the same with lockscreen wallpaper.
- Change for both Light and Dark theme
- Open "Mouse & Touchpad" configuration and try various options. If you are using a touchpad enable "Content sticks to fingers".
- Open "Printers" configuration and try to add new printer, change various options and print a test page. "Show" active jobs when you are printing a test page.
- Open "Power" and try out the Performance, Balance and Power saver mode
- Open "Notification" and enable "Do not Disturb" or try to set individually for apps
- Open "Privacy" and set Apps which should have access to Camera and Mic
- In "Privacy" also check File history and tweak "Automatically delete period" and "Clear History"
- Explore "Multitasking" if you actively use one of multiple workspaces and displays
- Open "Default Applications" and configure apps for specific type of files
- Explore and test other categories in System Settings.
Expected Results
- You can preview current wallpaper and change it. Select new wallpaper from preinstalled wallpapers, your pictures or various colors.
- Every option should behave as expected.
- You can add new printer and configure existing printer. Test page is printed and you can show active jobs.
- Every option should have expected result and System Settings should not crash.
