Gnome Boxes is a virtualization software included in Fedora 21. "A simple GNOME 3 application to access remote or virtual systems" Gnome boxes uses shared code with libvert to create a very simple and easy to use desktop performance based virtual machine management and use software.

Technical

Gnome Boxes creates hard drive image files in the user's home directory in:

• /home/<user>/.local/share/gnome-boxes/images

and keeps the XML file for each machine:

• /home/<user>/.config/libvirt/storage/gnome-boxes.xml

For compatibility, these files should be kept in the same directory structure on the new host system, or the XML file will need to be edited for the new paths.
