About

Fedora Day Buenos Aires 2014 is an event to promote Fedora and it's related projects like oVirt, Openshift, Openstack, Gluster among others which will take place in Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Also, the plan is to use this event as a kickstart to promote Buenos Aires as candidate to host FUDCon 2015.

Getting in conference place from Ministro Pistarini International Airport

 Be advised that there's a link on the upper right corner to switch their site to English. Also, it is better for travellers to go to the official stands and refuse any car services not offered there. According to the site, it is for security reasons.

  • In case you are travelling by car to the conference place, try to stick to this route[6] as it is one of the safest and most direct ones. It has tolls and its prices vary from 6 to 20 ARS.

  • How to get from Retiro bus station to Conference place
 - Considering Subway B Line has new schedules (6 to 14 on Saturdays), I'd recommend the following routes in case you're planning to show up a bit late:
      FromTerminal de Ómnibus de Retiro To Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN)
       Bus 106 - Estimated Trip Time 31' 
        Walk from 1250 ANTARTIDA ARGENTINA AV. up to intersection of ANTARTIDA ARGENTINA AV. and LUISONI, ARTURO, Mayor.
      Take the Bus 106 get off at CORDOBA AV. and MEDRANO.
      Walk from intersection of CORDOBA AV. and MEDRANO until reach your destination.
       Bus 26 - Estimated Trip Time 35' 
         Walk from 1250 ANTARTIDA ARGENTINA AV. up to intersection of ANTARTIDA ARGENTINA AV. and Dr. Ramos Mejía, José María AV. (bus stop is not exactly there, it's accross the street in harbour direction).
         Take the Bus 26 get off at LAVALLE and MEDRANO AV..
         Walk from intersection of LAVALLE and MEDRANO AV. until reach your destination.
      If you don't have SUBE card, trip needs to be paid with coins and it's more expensive.
      In case you do, It might cost between 3,50ARS and 4,00ARS.

I'll be here[9] between 08:30 and 09:00, if train service is on schedule. I'll be wearing a white T-shirt with Fedora logo, blue Jeans and, probably, black shoes. I can escort you by subway. I'll leave the location at 09:00 in order to arrive a bit earlier than 10:00 to the place. I'd rather take the underground, but if we go by bus, you might enjoy the view (there are some parks around).

At the moment we're looking for local sponsors, and we're probably going to request budget to the project to fund travel expenses for the volunteers going to Buenos Aires the conference and requests must be done through |LATAM ticket tracker.
