Random notes about Fedora 8 GA
- If you are using D620, in order to boot to firstboot, edit your grub entry with nohz=off nolapic.
- If you want to run jre with firefox, take note of bz#254144 comment #14 .
- yum -y install compat-libstdc++-33
- sed -i 's/XINERAMA/FAKEEXTN/g' /opt/jre1.6.0_03/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so
- mkdir ~/.mozilla/plugins
- cd !$; ln -s /opt/jre1.6.0_03/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
- libvirtd is disabled by default. To connect to the libvirt management daemon via virt-manager (or set the status for qemu to active), type service libvirtd start.
- Codeina is not listed on the menu. Run it manually if you want to install the "Fluendo MP3 Audio Decoder" and/or other codec-related products. You have to uncheck, and recheck the checkbox to enable the "Get selected" button.
