Description

This case tests upgrading from the current stable release (Fedora 41) to the development release (Fedora 42) with KDE desktop.


How to test

  1. Perform an installation of the previous Fedora release (Fedora 41) with KDE desktop using any available means: KDE Plasma Desktop Spin, DVD/Netinst.iso/PXE installation and select KDE Software Compilation group (@kde-desktop)
  2. Log into KDE and do a full system update.
  3. Upgrade your system to Fedora 42 using any available means (boot.iso, PXE or DVD.iso)
  4. Boot and test the system.
  5. Log into KDE and test the desktop and important applications and desktop components.

Expected Results

  1. The system should be upgraded to Fedora 42 version without error
  2. The display manager should offer 'KDE Plasma Workspace' and 'KDE Plasma Workspace (failsafe session)' as a session types
  3. KDE desktop settings should be preserved.
  4. Applications and desktop components should work correctly.
