Blivet

Blivet, or Devil's pitchfork

Blivet is a python module for management of a system's storage configuration. It is used by Anaconda, Fedora's OS installer and used to exist as pyanaconda.storage.

I am currently working on packaging the module and will update this page as things progress.

FAQ

What's with the name?

The blivet is an optical illusion that displays two irreconcilable perspectives at once. This is apropos to a fully functional storage library in that the goal of clean, consistent design is virtually irreconcilable with the tangle of massively inconsistent storage technologies that must be managed.

But the term "blivet" has a negative connotation as well. Shouldn't you pick a different name?

No. If you don't have a sense of humor you must develop thicker skin. Seriously.
