Description
This test case tests whether it is possible to capture audio from external sources using a default web browser or a dedicated application.
How to test
- Install the Gnome Sound Recorder (
gnome-sound-recorder
) application (or a similar application that supports recording sound) if it is not already installed on your system. - If your computer is not equipped with a built-in microphone (laptops usually are), connect an external microphone or an external headset to your computer's sound device. Make sure a correct socket is used.
- Open the your desktop's Settings and go to the Sound tab. Check that your input device is selected. If you have multiple input devices connected to your system, select the one you want to use for this test.
Expected Results
- You should be able to hear the sound playing. You should not have to adjust any default volume settings in order to hear the sound
