Description

This test case is to check the language switch on the desktop.

How to test

  • If the display manager supports switching language, do it there.
  • Since Gnome 46 release:
  1. Log into the desktop
  2. Click on the gearbox icon from the system status menu on the upper right corner or run gnome-control-center from Activity or Terminal.
  3. Click on "System" on left side and then "Region & Language" on right side of your screen.
  4. Click Language row and select a language you want to use.
  5. You should get a notification to log out, otherwise press Alt-F2 and run gnome-session-quit.
  6. Log in again
  • In other cases:
  1. Install system-config-language if not installed
  2. run system-config-language
  3. select a language you want to use
  4. Log out and log in again.
  5. Note:- this only changes root user language.

Expected Results

The expected language should be available on the desktop.
