Alberto 'bt0dotninja' Rodríguez S. describes himself as "a Happy Fedora Contributor" and a cat lover.

Alberto is a Network Security Engineer with a bachelor's degree in Computer engineering and a Master's degree in Optimization, 20 years of experience using Unix/Linux systems, and ten years administering it (mostly Solaris, Debian, CentOS, Arch Linux, and RHEL 5.5,6,7 and 8).

As part of the Ambassadors, CommOps, and Fedora-Join and member Mindshare committee, he is very interested in finding new ways to grow the contributor base and retain our long-term contributors.

He is relatively new to the Fedora community (~3 years) but has a lot of passion for the project and Free and Open source in general.

Other fun things I do at work:

  • Teach courses about scientific computing and Linux administration
  • Support users other GNU/Linux users
  • I founded a LUG.
  • Implement a Linux apprentice program
    • Basically, I took one very enthusiastic person, and for along 6 moths, I teach the LF101.x contents plus other interest topics for the apprentice.
    • and first graduated !!! :D

Why Fedora?

Fedora has a perfect balance between stability and cutting edge technologies, is awesome for developing and DevOps I'm a big fan of the Fedora project ;)
