Weekly EPEL Summary
Week 36/2007
Most important happenings
- EPEL SIG tried alternative meeting time (23:00 UTC). The participation was nearly identical to meetings taking place at the old time. More discussion will likely occur on how to engage more EPEL involvement.
- Stahnma is still investigating the best way to deal with package information to ensure that EPEL is not stepping on packages from RHEL/RHN. Thus far a list of channels with package information is available at stahnma.fedorapeople.org/rhn.
- Nirik is working on setting up the security groups for EPEL so updates can match be CVEs etc.
- Nirik will send out information to the list on the best way to notify EPEL if a package needs to be pulled because it conflicts with RHEL/RHN content.
- Some discussion with with CentOS developers. CentOS developers would like to have a bit more collaberation and ensure that if a package requires updating for EPEL that CentOS be made aware of it also. (See https://www.redhat.com/archives/epel-devel-list/2007-September/msg00021.html )
