My name is James. Jerry James. I have never driven an Aston Martin, I don't own a tuxedo, and I never drink martinis. My great purpose in life is to own a shoe phone someday.
I started using Linux around 1995. I started with Slackware, but discovered RedHat the next year. I have had every major RedHat and Fedora release on one or the other of my computers since then. I am an inveterate drive-by patcher; Google my name to see the projects where I have shown up unannounced, dropped a boatload of patches on the maintainers, and then disappeared again.
I was a Computer Science professor for 8 years, then a software architect for a large nonprofit organization headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Since then I have worked for a variety of small software startups located in Utah, and am currently working for a large cybersecurity firm. I have a wife, 4 kids, a cat, and a mortgage.
Activities within Fedora
I currently maintain and co-maintain a few hundred Fedora packages. See my Fedora People page for pending packages. I am into static analysis of program text, formal reasoning, and mathematics. You can probably see those interests in the list of packages I maintain.
See the proposal to deprecate the xemacs, xemacs-packages-base, xemacs-packages-extra, and neXtaw packages.
