Description

This test case checks whether Xfce Settings Manager's Desktop applet works correctly.

How to test

Install Fedora (this test can apply to multiple versions of Fedora and Xfce; if you are doing this test independently, pick one you are interested in, otherwise install the ones being used in the event you are taking part in)
Install Xfce: yum install @XFCE
Log in to Xfce
Run the Settings Manager: Fedora menu -> Settings -> Xfce 4 Settings Manager
Run the Desktop applet: click Desktop
On the Background tab, try changing the background image
On the Background tab, try adding a background image to the list by clicking the button with a + icon on it
On the Background tab, try using a solid color background instead of an image
On the Background tab, try changing the background 'style'
On the Background tab, try adjusting the Brightness and Saturation sliders and observe the results
On the Menus tab, adjust each setting in turn and test the results
On the Icons tab, try each different Icon type setting and observe the results on the desktop
On the Icons tab, try changing the icon size and font size
On the Icons tab, try disabling some icons, with Icon type set to "File/launcher icons"

Changing the background image should work and take effect immediately
Adding a background image to the list should work and take effect immediately
Using a solid color background should work and take effect immediately
Changing the background 'style' should take effect immediately and behave as described
Adjusting the Brightness and Saturation sliders should change the appearance of the desktop background (but nothing else) appropriately
The settings on the Menus tab should each work as described. When you uncheck a top-level setting, its lower-level settings should be greyed out
The 'None' icon type setting should result in no desktop icons. The 'File/launcher icons' setting should result in conventional desktop icons. The 'Minimized application icons' setting should result in icons for each running application
The icon and font size settings should affect the appearance of desktop icons
Unchecking an icon in the 'Default Icons' list should result in it no longer appearing on the desktop
