From Fedora Project Wiki

The Fedora community will celebrate the release of Fedora Linux 40 with a virtual Release Party on 24-25 May 2024. For a few hours each day, Fedora contributors and leaders will speak about recent changes in Fedora Linux and the Fedora Project. Our global Release Parties are a great way to learn more about the latest Fedora Linux release and also an opportunity to get to know the Fedora contributors behind it all.

We hope you will join us in a celebration of our last six months and the people who make it possible!

Dates

Friday, 24 May to Saturday, 25 May 2024

Highlights for this party

  • Fedora Linux 40 included 53 accepted Changes (28 System-Wide, 25 Self-Contained).
  • Fedora Linux 40 will be the branching point for CentOS Stream 10, the starting point for future downstream Enterprise Linux releases.
  • This is the first time that Fedora will hold its global, virtual Release Party using a Free and Open Source Software event platform. We will use Matrix for our main stage and event chat, and a live-stream on YouTube will also be available.
