I have a Desktop machine with a one terrabyte disk that is dual-booted in the grub fashion between Windows 11 and Fedora 36
A couple of days ago Fedora crashed, it crashed during post with the message about entering the root password and then entering journalctl -xb.
I did this, but wasn't able to get things fixed up on my own. (Where would I go for help? I chose here). My solution, since I have most things backed up, was to use a USB stick created by "mediawriter" with XFCE 36 on it. Problem is, this HP ENVY is a nice machine, but I couldn't figure out how to boot from the boot stick. It kept returning to the original Grub menu. The Windows 11 partition is also crucial for my work.
I am open to advice on how to boot into Fedora on the Fedora Partition, and I am worried crazy about the Windows 11, which I have already said I need for my work.
The problem is inscrutable to me, I tried a few simple things but it was highly verbose (the journalctl -xb) and I'm afraid I couldn't fix it.
Pointers, advice...????
