Dates/Location
May 8th till 10th 2013 at Berlin, Germany
Event Description
LinuxTag is a free software expo and conference with an emphasis on Linux. It is relatively large, in 2011 over 11.500 visitors from around 30 nations, claiming that it is the largest expo of this kind in Europe. The LinuxTag byline is as always "where .COM meets .ORG". This includes both representatives from not-for-profit/community projects and from companies.
This year, the organizers want to try out a new concept:
- LinuxTag is part the Berlin Web Week, together with Droidcon re:publica 14 and other events;
- therefor, it is no longer at Messe Berlin fairground but at | Station Berlin, an abandoned post railway station.
- and it's three instead of four days, but with evening program until 10:00.
- It's more of a conference than an exhibition and more exclusive than in previous years;
- that's why tickets have become very expensive.
