Description
KDE upstream features a battery applet.
Setup
A laptop with an internal or external battery serving as power supply
How to test
- Boot to KDE Plasma Desktop, the battery applet icon appears in the system tray
- Check whether the applet correctly reflects the current system status (on AC / on battery)
- When on battery, verify the percentage and remaining time correspond with the output of
upower --dump
- Try to change the display brightness using the popup's slider and/or using the keyboard shortcuts
- Ensure that the profile and brightness are correctly switched back and forth when going between AC and battery power
Expected Results
- The applet correctly displays current status, percentage and remaining time of the battery
- It reacts to and accordingly represents the display brightness
- The configured power saving profiles are correctly switched when changing the system's power supply
