Description
A complete installation, placing the root filesystem on a thin-provisioned logical volume.
Setup
- Ideally, begin with a test system with a single, empty, cleanly-formatted disk
How to test
- Boot the installer using any available means (netinst/boot.iso, PXE, or DVD)
- In the Installation Destination spoke, select target disk(s)
- Either set the Partition scheme: dropdown to LVM Thin Provisioning, or enter Custom partitioning and create a layout where the root filesystem (/) has its Device Type: set to LVM Thin Provisioning, and the rest of the layout is sensible and simple
- Proceed with installation, leaving all other settings at default where possible, using sensible values for anything you must select or fill in
- Complete the installation
- Boot the installed system and verify that the root filesystem is correctly mounted and used
Expected Results
- Installation completes successfully
- Installed system boots successfully
- root partition is backed by a thin-provisioned logical volume and is formatted with the expected default filesystem
