Description
This test case ensures that the Python bindings of NEURON simulator function correctly on install.
Setup
- Run a current Fedora release: even a virtual machine is OK.
- Install nest:
sudo dnf install neuron
. - If testing an update, please ensure that the build in the update is being installed:
sudo dnf --enablerepo=updates-testing install neuron
.
How to test
- In a terminal, invoke the neuron command line interpreter:
nrniv
(hit ctrl D to exit) - In a terminal, invoke the neuron GUI:
nrngui
(hit ctrl D to exit) - Follow the introductory tutorial: https://neuron.yale.edu/neuron/static/docs/elementarytools/intro.htm
Expected Results
- You should see NEURON's
oc
interpreter. - You should see NEURON's
oc
interpreter and the GUI controller. - You should be able to run the example simulation and see the graph provided in the documentation.
