f13 | hrm, no jeremy no warren | 09:59 |
* notting is here | 10:00 | |
rdieter | hi | 10:01 |
* poelcat here | 10:02 | |
f13 | might as well get started | 10:04 |
-!- f13 changed the topic of #fedora-meeting to: Fedora releng - F11 milestones | 10:04
f13 | I used offtrac and filed our milestones/tickets for F11. Unfortunately I had a bug that made --stealth not actually be stealthy, so mailbombing happened. | 10:04 |
f13 | sorry about that | 10:04 |
f13 | one thing I realized is that we should make these tickets more generically named and with more generic information in them, so that I can just run a script each release to file all the tickets | 10:05 |
notting | see, if you hadn't mentioned it, we just would have assumed there was no --stealth mode | 10:05 |
f13 | having done it by hand a few times now, it's rather tedious and easy to get wrong. | 10:05 |
f13 | also, if you think I've forgotten to file a ticket for a task, please let me know and I'll get it filed. | 10:07 |
-!- f13 changed the topic of #fedora-meeting to: Fedora releng - FUDCon | 10:09
f13 | I've signed up for a few hackfests and a barcamp session or two that somewhat related to releng | 10:09 |
* stickster saw those on the schedule | 10:09
f13 | Offtrac, Automated QA, Makefile.common hackfests, and Automated QA barcamp | 10:10 |
f13 | should be a good time | 10:10 |
f13 | perhaps it would also be worthwhile to have a hackfest on the signing server | 10:10 |
f13 | at least a trial in getting it installed someplace in Fedora infra to poke at it | 10:10 |
poelcat | f13: i'd be glad to help note capture, etc. those discussions | 10:11 |
f13 | ok | 10:11 |
f13 | There is also a koji hackfest and various barcamps related to it | 10:11 |
f13 | something about Comps too | 10:11 |
f13 | so plenty to keep the releng types interested | 10:12 |
f13 | I'll try to go to the relevant ones and take something approximating notes to report back here for those that won't be able to attend. | 10:12 |
f13 | any further thoughts about FUDCon ? | 10:12 |
poelcat | we might have live audio stream too :) | 10:13 |
notting | come to fudcon! get snowed in! | 10:13 |
f13 | notting: but I'm already snowed in! | 10:13 |
* poelcat is already doing that at home :( | 10:13
notting | f13: are they going to be able to contract out enough snowplows to unstick you before fudcon? | 10:13 |
poelcat | notting: they don't have those on this coast!!! :( | 10:14 |
f13 | notting: I have all wheel drive, I can get around. | 10:14 |
f13 | I'm actually surprised I still have power | 10:14 |
-!- f13 changed the topic of #fedora-meeting to: Fedora releng - Rawhide stability | 10:15
f13 | so I've been trying to keep an eye on rawhide every day, and although I'm not actually keeping records, at least keeping an idea of what all causes there to be no installable rawhide | 10:15 |
f13 | thus far, we've seen python-2.6 fall out causethere to be broken images a few times | 10:16 |
f13 | changes in the compose tools led to a day without a compose | 10:16 |
f13 | and most recently a new dep loop somewhere in the stack causing images to not be created | 10:16 |
f13 | those were all reasons why we had no images | 10:16 |
f13 | but on the days we've had images, we've also had issues with anaconda software making it uninstallable | 10:17 |
f13 | and currently (after I "fixed" the deploop) we have a rawhide that doesn't seem to dhcp in stage1, although I'd like somebody to verify that. | 10:17 |
f13 | anyway I'm being pretty aggressive about keeping rawhide installable given that we don't have any automation here yet. | 10:20 |
dgilmore | f13: hopefully we can spend some time working on secondary arch updates also | 10:20 |
-!- f13 changed the topic of #fedora-meeting to: Fedora releng - Open Floor | 10:21
f13 | anybody got any other topics? | 10:21 |
poelcat | f13: what is the timeline for going live w/ the signing server? | 10:21 |
f13 | a ways yet. | 10:23 |
f13 | seems it only works on things newer than RHEL5, so we'll have to take that into account. | 10:23 |
f13 | I hope to start playing a bit with it maybe over the break in an F10 guest, and will certainly want to poke at it at FUDCon | 10:24 |
* poelcat just wondering if we had any interim milestones planned along the way and if using for F11 was a goal? | 10:24
f13 | Using it for f11 is a loose goal, I honestly don't have an idea how polished the code is at this point | 10:26 |
f13 | or how usable it is | 10:26 |
dgilmore | f13: think we should try get setup a git tree with cvs converted. so we could look at making it useable and more flexiable | 10:28 |
f13 | dgilmore: I honestly don't have time for that this cycle. | 10:29 |
f13 | I'm supposed to help dcantrell with a rewrite of anaconda-runtime scripts | 10:29 |
f13 | plus I don't think we'd be able to do it this close to a RHEL branching :/ | 10:29 |
f13 | alright folks, thanks for coming! | 10:33 |
