Can't make the date? If you come to this page before or after the test day is completed, your testing is still valuable, and you can use the information on this page to test, file any bugs you find at
Bugzilla, and add your results to the
results section. If this page is more than a month old when you arrive here, please check the
current schedule and see if a similar but more recent Test Day is planned or has already happened.
What to test?[edit]
Today's installment of Fedora Test Day will focus on Upgrade Test Day
Who's available[edit]
The following cast of characters will be available testing, workarounds, bug fixes, and general discussion. In case of problem related to test day organization/wiki/whatever, please reach out to sumantrom.
Prerequisite for Test Day[edit]
- A system (real or virtual) you can install Fedora to, and not mind if it breaks
- A Fedora 35 image: download Workstation or Server or KDE and other spins
- For Previous Test Cases: download Fedora 34
- Make sure to use the latest version of dnf for F35 is installed
How to test?[edit]
Run the tests[edit]
Visit the result page and click on the column title links to see the tests that need to be run: most column titles are links to a specific test case. Follow the instructions there, then enter your results by clicking the Enter result button for the test.
Reporting bugs[edit]
If you have problems with any of the tests, report a bug to Bugzilla usually for the component dnf. If you are unsure about exactly how to file the report or what other information to include, just ask on IRC and we will help you.
Anaconda will display an error dialog allowing you to report the problem to Bugzilla. This will also automatically attach logs, error message and traceback to the report -- this way of reporting bugs is preferred.

- ↑ "Welcome to F36, bla bla"... The setting org.gnome.desktop.interface.gtk-theme "Adwaita-dark" conflicts with the new org.gnome.desktop.interface.color-scheme "default" which takes precedence : only dconf-editor will use the gtk-theme "dark" set previously until the new color-scheme "prefer-dark" is set by the background settings (easier to use than dconf-editor). Didn't test the impact of this new setting on GTK applications run with plasma, though.
- ↑ The "learn more" button links to a page not yet created but the URL "https://fedoramagazine.org/whats-new-fedora-36-workstation" is correct.
What blocks dnf is a warning here : "tepl is not compatible with F36 and will be removed by the installation". Maybe dnf system-upgrade should "allow erasing" by default...

- ↑ I installed Fedora 34 and set up a LAMP stack with php-fpm for a simple Wordpress page. It was upgraded to Fedora 35. Then, it was upgraded do Fedora 36, following instructions from https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Testcase_upgrade_dnf_current_server . All went well. Page is still available after upgrades. I can login to cockpit. No package had issues with conflicts, or dependencies.
I know I am little early, but we have holidays ahead. :)
Thanks.
