Can't make the date? If you come to this page before or after the test day is completed, your testing is still valuable, and you can use the information on this page to test, file any bugs you find at
Bugzilla, and add your results to the results section. If this page is more than a month old when you arrive here, please check the
current schedule and see if a similar but more recent Test Day is planned or has already happened.
How to write Profile in test event page? Please follow the nomenclature of adding profile information for your testing while submitting test result
1) which variant? WS (Workstation) or SB (Silverblue) or Kinoite ?
2) bare metal or VM?
3) which language used?
4) which arch used?
5) if you upgraded from the previous release, please specify "upgrade"
e.g. a complete user profile should be "Silverblue, KVM, ja_JP, x86_64, Fresh"
What to test?[edit]
Today's installment of Fedora Test Day will focus on Internationalization a.k.a. i18n around Desktops including their applications. this aims to ensure if i18n support works enough on them.
Who's available[edit]
The following cast of characters will be available testing, workarounds, bug fixes, and general discussion ...

How to test?[edit]
Update your machine[edit]
If you test with an installed system, make sure you have all the current updates installed, using the update manager.
Live image[edit]
Instead of testing on an installed system, you may download a Fedora 41 nightly Workstation live image or Fedora 41 Silverblue image for your architecture. Tips on using a live image are available at FedoraLiveCD. The latest live image links can be found here: please make sure to get a Fedora 41 nightly, not Rawhide.
Run the tests[edit]
Visit the result page and click on the column title links to see the tests that need to be run: most column titles are links to a specific test case. Follow the instructions there, then enter your results by clicking the Enter result button for the test.
Reporting bugs[edit]
Include some instructions on how to report bugs, and any special instructions.
If you have problems with any of the tests, report a bug to Bugzilla for the appropriate component. If you are unsure about exactly how to file the report or what other information to include, just ask on IRC and we will help you.
Test Results[edit]
Please follow the nomenclature of adding profile information for your testing while submitting test result
1) which variant? WS (Workstation) or SB (Silverblue) or Kinoite ?
2) bare metal or VM?
3) which language used?
4) which arch used?
5) if you upgraded from the previous release, please specify "upgrade"
e.g. a complete user profile should be "Silverblue, KVM, ja_JP, x86_64, Fresh"
Results will be transferred from result page

- ↑ I did not (yet) test whether it is installed and enabled by default after an installation in zh_TW locale.
But the test case works. Except for one minor nitpick:
Configure "Keyboard Type" to "Hanyu Pinyin" and "Conversion Engine" to "Fuzzy Chewing"
The test case says: “Type "ji hui shao zong ji shi" or "ji hui4 shao zong4 ji2 shi4" should display "機會稍縱即逝"” and when typing without the tones, this works, but when typing with the tones, the digits indicating the tones already trigger the conversion so one should not type a space after a tone, one should type "ji hui4shao zong4ji2shi4", then it works.

- ↑ - Add German and Russian Input Sources. Then in Settings/Keyboard/InputSources click on the three dots next to German and select the "view keyboard layout". On tab 4 you will notice left shift is called "dead belowm..."
- Go to Settings/Keyboard/InputSources and next to Russian click on "view keyboard layout" - you will notice the window title is Keyboard Layout - null.
- Close all windows then go to top right corner and click on "en". In the new popup click on "Show Keyboard Layout". While Keyboard Layout is open change the input source on the right top corner and notice the layout does not reflect the change consistently and the (null) windows title appears for german as well this time. (same for the new ibus)

- ↑ Works as described.
- ↑ Works, but in Gnome Wayland the illegal input sequence in CangJie5 is hard to test because the preedit has no colour. It just stops and one cannot continue typing and might not realize that something is wrong and one has to type Escape to cancel or Backspace to make the sequence legal again. Gnome Xorg seems to be not available anymore, in XFCE one can see the error colour. One may be able to hear an error beep though.
